Bags & Totes. (3-day class) . In this workshop you will have a choice to weave either a handbag or tote.  Project planning, design elements, and finishing techniques will be covered.  For all experience levels. No previous weaving experience required. Cost $180 plus materials (approx $20-45).This class is offered "on-demand".  Pre-register to be notified when additional classes are forming!!

Bags & Totes. (Weeklong) . In this workshop you will have a choice to weave a handbag and a tote.  Project planning, design elements, and finishing techniques will be discussed and implemented.  How to embellish your bag will be covered with a session on making your own felted flower.  You will leave class with at least one completely finished project. Beginning Weaving - Placemats. (Three day and weeklong options.)  In this workshop you will learn to warp and weave on a four harness floor loom.  You will learn to read a draft (pattern) and weave a wonderful and useful set of cotton placemats.  Project planning and finishing will be covered.  If time permits in the weeklong class, a second smaller project will be completed. No previous weaving experience required.  Weeklong cost $300 plus materials (approx $25-50). Wine and cheese welcome reception one evening; guests welcome. Beginning Weaving: Tablerunner.  A great beginner weaving class.  Learn to warp and weave on a 4 harness floor loom.  You'll learn to read a draft (pattern) and by changing treadling, you will weave a lovely cotton tablerunner in three different patterns.  No previous weaving experience required.  Cost $150 plus materials (approx $15-25). In this workshop you will learn to warp and weave on a four harness floor loom.  You will learn to read a draft (pattern) and weave a choice of a simple top, ruana, or shawl. Project planning and finishing will be covered.  If time permits, a second smaller project will be completed. Double Weave Blanket. (photo) One of our most popular weaving classes!  Learn to double-weave a blanket that is unfolded after coming off the loom to double your weaving width!  Beg. weaving experience on a four-harness floor loom required.  Cost $150 plus materials (approx $50-80). Double Weave Sampler. Explore a variety of double weave structures while you create a practical double weave wall hanging to organize your weaving supplies.   Beginning weaving experience on a 4 harness loom required. Cost $150 plus materials (approx $15-30). Inkle Weaving & Kumihimo Embellishments.  (Photos) The inkle loom is perfect for weaving belts, bookmarks, shoelaces, bands, and trims that put the finishing touches on a project.  The perfect class for those wanting to get a small taste of portable weaving.  The second 1/2 of this workshop will introduce kumihimo, a Japanese braiding technique where you will learn to create beautiful braided bands with threads and beads. You may register for the full day or only for the inkle or kumihimo portions.  No previous experience necessary.  Cost: Inkle weaving $30; Kumihimo $25; both workshops for a reduced fee of $45. Fee includes all materials for use in class. Kumihimo disks and inkle looms will be available for purchase following the class for those who wish to take one home. Loom Warping Refresher. Does the thought of warping your loom make you break into a cold sweat?  Can't remember how to warp from your beginning weaving workshop? During this workshop we will practice, practice, practice!  We will review how to calculate warp, read a threading pattern, and practice each step of warping.  You will have the opportunity to warp the loom several times.  Pre-requisite: beginning weaving on a 4-harness loom.  Cost $45. Learn a wide variety of navaho pattern techniques to weave a beautiful wall hanging!  No previous weaving experience required.  Cost $150 plus materials (approx $10-25). Overshot Fabric. Overshot Name Drafts.  Design an overshot pattern using a computer weaving program which has hidden within its threading and treadling the name of someone!  A table runner will be woven using this creative technique with overshot.  Beginning weaving experience on a four harness loom required.  Cost: $150 plus materials (approx $10-25). Spinning for Weaving. This workshop will build your confidence as a spinner...no more fear of spinning warp for weaving!  You will learn how to spin a yarn that will work well as a warp, as well as design a weft yarn. You will weave a small project from your handspun yarns and never fear spinning for weaving again!  Students must be comfortable spinning wool and have beginning weaving experience on a 4-harness loom.  Cost: $150 plus materials (approx $15-40).  Students will also be welcome to bring their own spinning fibers.  Length: Full weekend (Friday 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.; Saturday 10am-6pm; Sunday 10am-4pm)  Instructor: Deb Jones  Pre-register now!!

Warp Painting. (Photo) This is a "don't miss" workshop for weavers!  You will learn to set up a convenient warp dyeing table, use two different types of dyes to paint a wool warp and a rayon chenille warp, and weave both of them! You will leave with two completed handpainted, woven scarves.  Beginning weaving experience on a four harness loom required. Cost: $185.  Fee includes all yarns and dyes. Warp Painting...One Day (Photo) Can't make a full weekend to warp paint and weave??  The come for one full day and learn the process of warp painting on both protein and cellulose fibers.  You will learn to set up a convenient warp dyeing table, and use different types of dyes for painting a protein and cellulose warps. You may wind and paint as many 3 yard warps as you have time for in the day.  Yarns available for dyeing include wool, bamboo, tencel, cotton, or students may bring their own yarns. Weaving with Bead Embellishments(Photos) With the popularity of beading, this workshop will be extra-special as you combine two wonderful art forms.  Students will weave a tablerunner, dresser scarf or other similar project in cotton, adding beads into the weaving using the Danish medallion technique and finishing with beads in a twisted fringe or a hemstitched beaded edge. Beginning weaving experience on a four harness loom required. Weaving...Beyond Wool and Cotton.   Step out of your beginning weaving comfort zone of cotton and wool and weave with some new fibers.  Bamboo and tencel are two fibers that create beautiful fabrics well suited for a variety of projects from home accents to clothing.  Students will weave a tablerunner, dresser scarf or other similar project. Beginning weaving experience on a four harness loom required. Weaving for the Home - Cloverlets. In this workshop you will learn all the steps needed to make a coverlet.  A lot of time will be spent on project planning.  You will learn how to customize a pattern of your choice for the size of coverlet you want to make.  A brief history on coverlets, fiber selection, setts, and finishing techniques will be discussed.  Students will weave a sample of their coverlet in class and will go home with their finished sample and the tools necessary to weave their own coverlet at home. Weaving for the Home - Dishtowels. In this workshop you will warp the loom with a production warp and weave a variety of patterns in twill weave structures using different yarns, tie-ups and treadlings.  Project planning, fiber selection, and finishing techniques will be covered.  You will leave class with 8-10 towels all from the same warp but all looking very different! For intermediate weavers; beginning weaving experience on a four harness loom required. Cost $300 plus materials (approx $25-50). Wine and cheese welcome reception one evening; guests welcome. Weaving with Rayon Chenille(photo) You will fall in love with chenille!  It's soft and cozy to wrap yourself up in!  You will learn about how chenille is made, techniques for weaving, and proper finishing.  You will select one of several patterns to weave 1-2 generous-sized scarves!  Beginning weaving experience on a four-harness loom required.  Length:  Two days (Saturday - Sunday) Cost: $150 plus materials (approx $10-25).
