Spring Spinners Retreat

Apr 9,2015 - Apr 12,2015Time: 4:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Join the Fiber Garden and spinning friends for a weekend of spinning at Durward\'s Glen in the beautiful Baraboo Hills National Natural Landmark! The 40 acre property is located 30 miles north of Madison near Devil's Lake State Park. This retreat is an opportunity to gather as a spinning community, working at your own skill level on projects of your choice. Deb will be there to coach, guide, and provide encouragement. There is no agenda for this weekend...just come and enjoy doing whatever you want, whenever you want! You may choose to work on spinning yarn for a specific project, experimenting with new fibers, exploring novelty yarns, or just pulling fibers out of your stash. Bring your own fibers, or purchase them at the retreat from Deb’s “fiber shop” that will be on-site. Bring your own wheel or rent one from the Fiber Garden for a small fee. The only pre-requisite for the retreat is that you have some beginning spinning experience. You do not need to be an experienced spinner...\"early career\" spinners are welcome and encouraged! A $100 deposit is required to reserve your space. The balance of the fee will be due on March 20.  Retreat fees include lodging, all meals, use of Durward\'s Glen facilities and trails, and a special gift! All participants are encouraged to stay overnight to enjoy the full retreat experience (it\'s also the best value!), but commuters are welcome and their fee will include lunch and dinner each day. You will have a choice of arriving on Thursday evening or Friday evening. Cancellations received prior to March 20 will receive a refund of any fees paid, less a $50 administrative fee. Retreat fees: -Thursday evening - Sunday, double room: $320 -Thursday evening - Sunday, single room: $399 -Thursday evening - Sunday, commuter: $225 -Friday evening - Sunday, double room: $250 -Friday evening - Sunday, single room: $310 -Friday evening - Sunday, commuter: $185 -Single day (Friday or Saturday), commuter: $60
